GOLD AWARD WINNER

Over time and space.

When Robyn and Peter Ireland set out to transform their scrubby 3.5 ha patch of land into a dream, they had little concept of the enormous project ahead of them. Almost six years since the project’s completion, the property with breathtaking Shotover Views has evolved and matured to work beautifully with its spectacular natural surroundings.

When brought on board to the project, the Southern Landmarx team addressed the challenges of harsh climate and conditions to transform the former river bed and deer farm into a multi-award winning landscape. The achievement recognised at Landscaping New Zealand’s (LNZ) Landscapes of Distinction Awards with three gold awards in Landscape Design, Landscape Construction and Landscape Horticulture.

“Overall, it was massive. A massive undertaking… and it grew and expanded into so much more as the project developed. It was very much an evolution throughout its design and construction. It is absolutely amazing what the team have achieved and to is fantastic what we have ended up with… the place is just fantastic to live in and everyone comments on it.”

“We didn’t think things were growing fast enough at first, but they eventually did! Joe told us they would, but just took a lot longer. It takes a lot longer to settle with the climate we have here. It can get down to -9°C in winter, and summer very hot over 30°. We waited, and it took a little longer, but then everything just shot up. It was best to trust in the landscapers that growth will happen, and it did. What we’ve got now is spectacular. Looking back on plants and photos we realise just what has been achieved. Even looking at photos 12 months ago show how much has changed again”

“I have to say they were an amazing team. We’ll be working with Southern Landmarx on our next project and have recommended them on to friends and others who have issues or need their help with landscaping problems on their properties.”
