Tama Ritter
Landscape Apprentice
Keeping things moving…
Junior Landscape Foreman, Tama Ritter made the move to Central Otago from Dunedin in 2014 and hasn’t looked back since.
Valued by the rest of the Southern Landmarx team for his willingness to work, you’ll catch Tama hard at work on any of the company’s projects whether it’s landscaping, construction, or maintenance.
As Junior Landscape Foreman, Tama Ritter is involved in all Southern Landmarx projects.   Never the same from one day to the next, Tama’s day may involve working on the machinery, irrigation, planting, or garden maintenance.
Currently working through a Landscape Horticulture Apprenticeship, Tama has plenty of options when it comes to a career in landscaping.
If he were asked to choose his favourite part of the job, Tama would say it’s the landscape construction and machinery. Tama is often involved in the company’s large construction projects that bring garden concepts to life.
As well as maintenance, design and construction, Southern Landmarx projects often involve the creation of the stunning stonework so iconic to Central Otago. Tama enjoys these projects and working with the expert team of stonemasons at Southern Landmarx.
Every day is different for a landscaper at Southern Landmarx and Tama enjoys the fact that it never gets boring or repetitive. Tama has an eye for good landscape architecture.  Whether it’s native Central Otago or Japanese gardens, there’s always something exciting to work on.
When he’s not at work, you’ll probably catch Tama on the Frisbee Golf course in Queenstown.

“They are a very good team, they have a great level of knowledge about the materials and plants they use, and Joe’s approach to getting in and getting his hands dirty with the team works well – they were great to have around on the job.”
