Combining all aspects...
With the vision of bringing both the design and construction elements together firmly in mind, he and wife Jaye started Southern Landmarx in 2003. The company combines Jaye’s experience in marketing with Joe’s landscape architecture degree that was founded on the practicalities of experience in planning and construction.
A key focus was always to have a company that kept strong links between its clients and the space being created for them. The latest advances in computer aided design, along with Joe’s hands-on personable style, help Southern Landmarx achieve this.
Joe has been quick to recognise the advances of computer aided design in producing quality concept drawings and virtual 3D plans of landscape spaces.
Such technology was once the domain of large commercial developers in the landscaping industry, thanks to its high cost.
However the rapid advance in software and the accompanying fall in cost means that technology is now available to private individuals wanting to view their creations. Southern Landmarx place an emphasis on involving their clients through every step of the landscaping process.
“Many people find a two dimensional plan quite hard to visualise as a finished landscape. Being able to present a space as a 3D landscape is very reassuring for our clients, and gives them a sense of involvement and greater understanding of what is being achieved, before the first hole has even been dug.”
Joe’s ability to create their visions on screen provides a valuable and exciting telescope through time, allowing them to walk through the new space and make changes before committing to materials and costs.
His experience working for a number of landscaping firms here and internationally means Joe is familiar with the pitfalls of mis-communications that can occur in turning dream spaces into reality – he is as passionate about close liaison between himself and clients as he is about turning creative design into planned reality.
